Malcolm Berry

Malcolm has lived in the area for most of his life and moved to Moreton-in-Marsh in 2015. He worked for Local Education Authorities for nearly 40 years, managing frontline services to parents and students applying complex legislaton and regulations, and setting policies and processes for school place planning, applications, assessments for school admissions and transport, Fair Access Policy, Free School Meals and Further Education finance. He became a member of the Town Council in February 2018 primarily to ensure proper discussion of local issues and to save local allotments from development - which now reduces his time available for interests in history, books, football, nature and collecting.

Emma Carter

Emma moved to Moreton with her husband in October 2022. Although she grew up in a rural community she has lived much of her life in major cities, but after the pandemic Emma decided that it was time to go back to living in a place of Outstanding Natural Beauty that also had a vibrant community life.

Emma is a psychologist, Teacher, Communication Skills coach and a professional actress. When not working in a vast array of sectors Emma enjoys interior design, arts and crafts, tending her garden, and long country walks (and the pubs at the end of

them)!

She is passionate about ensuring that the community here continues to thrive and grow, meets the needs of all its residents and yet at the same time, preserves its historic and aesthetic character, its unique landscapes and its wonderful footpaths and dark sky areas.

Christopher Kenney-Herbert

Rosemary Mason

Rosemary moved to Moreton in 2013 to be closer to her mother, brother and his family.

She is a Community Occupational Therapist with the West Adult Social Care Team at Oxfordshire County Council, carrying out assessments, re-housing support reports, adaptation reports and equipment prescriptions for older adults with a wide range of conditions and varying disabilities.

Rosemary has served on Moreton Town Council and, as well as being a founder member of the NDP group, is a Redesdale Hall Trustee.

In her free time, she has a passion for gardening, working on a plot at Croft Allotments, seeing family and friends, walking and sightseeing.

Nick Loat

Nick has lived in Moreton-in-Marsh since 1995 and runs a graphic and web design business. He has previously served on the Town Council and is currently the Chairman of the Redesdale Hall Trust.

Peter Richardson

Peter has been chair of the working group since 2022. He moved to Moreton in 2018, but had visited the town and the area for many years before that. He worked for IBM in a variety of technical and management roles for over 25 years and then set up his own company helping businesses to save money by going green. He retired in 2019 and now enjoys gardening, golf, tennis and walking.

Sue Stapely

Sue is a solicitor and reputation management consultant, but has had held many senior roles in her career including making drama programmes for BBC TV, taking a law degree and becoming a partner in a national law firm while her two sons were small, Communications Director for the Law Society, helping establish a new political party and standing for Parliament, co-founding a campaign to get 300 women MPs, director of a corporate communications and design consultancy and establishing her own consultancy working with Government and many household name businesses and individuals.

She and her husband moved to Moreton-in-Marsh in 2022, but have known the area for much longer than that.

She is particularly interested in the architecture and design aesthetics of towns and villages to create imaginative, innovative, attractive, affordable, environmentally sound and healthy mixed communities while preserving the countryside surrounding them.

She is also passionate about the theatre and is currently a Governor of the Royal Shakespeare Company, a Trustee of Playground Proms, a charity bringing classical music to schools, and on a working party to plan Compton Verney’s 20th birthday in 2024.

Eileen Vivianni MBE

Eileen has lived in Moreton in Marsh for 14 years. As a retired MOD Civil Servant, she retains an interest in the Armed Forces. She also volunteers as a room guide for the National Trust at Chastleton House once a week.

She has been a member of Moreton Town Council since 26th March 2018 and is currently its chair of the Planning & Infrastructure Committee.
